CarDr ("CarDr," "we," "us," or "our") provides vehicle diagnostic hardware and software, including the CarDr ULTRA scanning device and the associated cloud platform, dashboard, SDK, and API (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit cardr.com, use our Services, or otherwise interact with us.

This policy applies to information we collect directly from visitors, prospective and current customers, job applicants, and users of our platform. It does not apply to third-party sites we may link to.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us directly, including:

  • Contact information (name, email, phone number, company name) submitted through our contact, demo request, order, or careers forms
  • Dealership, shipping, and finance contact information submitted through an order request
  • Resumes and application materials submitted through our careers page
  • Any other information you choose to include in a form field or message to us

Information collected through the Services, including:

  • Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs), diagnostic trouble codes, and other vehicle diagnostic data captured by a CarDr ULTRA device during a scan
  • Scan metadata such as timestamp, location, device ID, and the user account that performed the scan
  • Account and usage information when you log in to the CarDr client dashboard

Vehicle diagnostic data captured through the Services is collected on behalf of, and for the benefit of, the dealership, auction, fleet, or other business account operating the device. That business is responsible for its own use and disclosure of vehicle and customer information consistent with applicable law.

Information collected automatically, including standard web log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL) when you visit cardr.com.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to inquiries, demo requests, and order requests
  • Evaluate job applications
  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including generating diagnostic and appraisal reports
  • Communicate with you about your account, orders, or support requests
  • Verify dealership, auction, or fleet accounts prior to device activation
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve product performance
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who process information on our behalf, such as our form-processing provider (FormSubmit.co) and hosting and analytics vendors, under obligations to protect it
  • Integration partners, such as AutoAp for open recall data, where the integration is part of the Services you use
  • Business account administrators — vehicle diagnostic data collected through a device is visible to the dealership, auction, or fleet account that operates that device
  • Legal and safety purposes, where required by law, to protect our rights, or to protect the safety of any person
  • In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

4. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Job application materials are retained for a reasonable period following the close of the relevant hiring process. Vehicle diagnostic data is retained consistent with the terms of the business account under which it was collected.

5. Your Choices and Rights

You may contact us at info@cardr.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable law and our legitimate business and legal retention needs. If you are located in a jurisdiction that grants additional data protection rights, we will honor requests made under that law to the extent it applies to our processing of your information.

6. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve cardr.com, understand how visitors use our site, and support essential site functionality. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Services are intended for business use and are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
